Thompson, 60, of the 100 block of Blackhawk Street in Aurora, was arraigned Oct. 2, 2008 on 31 counts related to the alleged sexual abuse of four children.<br>

He was originally arrested in August and charged with sexually abusing two boys. An additional investigation produced two more alleged male victims, according to Kane County Assistant State's Atty. Christine Bayer.<br>

Thompson was arrested when one of the alleged victims, now 17, came forward and said Thompson had engaged in illicit contact with him beginning in 2004. That led to an investigation and additional complaints, authorities said.<br>

Bayer said Thompson could face a 28-year prison sentence if convicted.
