Mark D. Tunney has been appointed assistant general manager of the Union League Club of Chicago. Tunney, 52, has nearly 30 years experience in the hospitality and convention management and marketing industry, most recently as senior vice president of sales, services and special events for Choose Chicago, formerly the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau. He had led the sales team since 2007. From 2004 to 2007, Tunney was director of sales and marketing for the Renaissance Chicago Hotel, Marriott International. He also held similar positions at two Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Chicago properties, the Westin Michigan Avenue and the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers as well as the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel. Tunney has a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of San Diego and an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
