A man was shot dead Friday night in Chicago Heights in attack that wounded two other people, authorities said.
Joshua Garcia, 18, of the 3100 block of Willow Road in South Chicago Heights, was declared dead at 9:50 p.m. at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The shooting took place about 9 p.m. at K & N Liquors, 2301 Chicago Road, Chicago Heights, according to a release from Chicago Heights police. Two others were shot in the legs and also taken by Chicago Heights fire ambulances to St. James for treatment.
Neighbors reported hearing four or five gunshots.
Police were working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and questioning witnesses. No other details were being released.
