A group of historic residences constructed around the time of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in nearby <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLREC000072" title="Jackson Park" href="/topic/travel/tourism-leisure/jackson-park-PLREC000072.topic">Jackson Park</a> are on the endangered list. Although the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU0000151" title="University of Chicago" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/university-of-chicago-OREDU0000151.topic">University of Chicago</a> and local residents have signed off on a development plan for the area, Preservation Chicago said, buildings in the block that are not owned by the university remain vulnerable to demolition. It is urging the creation of a landmark district in the corridor, which includes <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEHST002261" title="Frank Lloyd Wright" href="/topic/arts-culture/architecture/frank-lloyd-wright-PEHST002261.topic">Frank Lloyd Wright</a>'s already-landmarked Robie House.
