Tax protest

In October of 2007, Jackson joined Cook County Board Commissioners Larry Suffredin and Forrest Claypool, Statehouse candidate Kenny Johnson and others joined in what they called a "Boston Tea Party" protest over the county's proposed tax hikes. The protesters gathered at Wacker Drive and Michigan Avenue and later poured bottles of water into the Chicago River in the spirit of the colonists dumping British tea in Boston Harbor in 1773.
