City Clerk Susana Mendoza now is the proud mom of a baby boy, her first child, according to her Facebook page.
“And then there were three!” says a 9 p.m. Tuesday post accompanied by a photo of Mendoza kissing the new baby, who was being held by her husband David Szostak. “We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, David Quinten Szostak.”
She described her new son as “Healthy, handsome and BIG!” Her son was born at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday and weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces. He was 20 inches long. She said the boy, “proud daddy and exhausted mommy are doing great. God has truly blessed us.”
Many people learned of the news at the City Council Finance Committee, where Chairman Edward Burke, 14th, announced the news during a hearing on city plans to purchase electricity in bulk on behalf of city residents and smaller businesses.
Mendoza is in her first term as clerk, after being elected early last year. In December 2011, she married Szostak, a principal with Diamond Strategies LLC, a communications and marketing services company.
