B.J. Futrell of Park Forest, the top Illinois wrestler, has been sidelined again.
Futrell, a fifth-year senior, was ranked third nationally in the 141-pound class until missing the last two meets with an injury he declined to specify.
"Sorry, I can't say at this point," Futrell said of the injury. Wednesday in a text message. "It's unclear when I'll be back. It's a lot of gray areas right now.
"Just another obstacle to overcome. So far through my career, I've had the knack of overcoming them."
A recent Tribune story about Futrell, a Mount Carmel product, recounted his comebacks from shoulder surgery and issues related to an irregular heartbeat.
