Helen Torres has been promote too vice president in the Chicago office of Thornton Tomasetti. Torres has more than 20 years of experience in structural design for new buildings and renovations of existing structures and has been with the firm 12 years. Recent projects include the Advanced Protein Crystallization Facility at Argonne National Laboratory, the William Eckhardt Research Center at the University of Chicago and a data center expansion. Ms. Torres is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and leads the Chicago office¿s participation in the City of Chicago's Green Office Challenge. She holds a bachelor's degree in architecture in structures from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
