Convicted killer William Heirens, 17, (also known as the "Lipstick Killer") is photographed in 1946. He pleaded guilty to killing two women, Frances Brown, 33, and Josephine Ross, 43, in their homes and strangling Suzanne Degnan, 6, whose body was dismembered and disposed of in Chicago sewers. Heirens was a University of Chicago student.
