Greg Watson has been promoted to senior vice president of the Menu Innovation Team at McDonald's USA. He oversees all aspects of menu enhancement and innovation for McDonald's 14,000 U.S. restaurants, championing efforts to create more choices and balance for a nutrition-minded future. In his role, Watson manages a team of registered dietitians; culinary, food and beverage scientists; and menu and nutrition specialists responsible for evolving McDonald's menu to meet the tastes of more than 27 million customers served every day. He also leads the development of long-term menu innovations. Previously Watson was vice president of Marketing Planning and Category Management, helping guide short and long-term marketing and brand strategy for McDonald's U.S. menu categories. Before joining McDonald's, he was senior VP of marketing for Darden Restaurants, working on the Olive Garden Italian Restaurants and Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill businesses. Before that he was brand manager for Cap'n Crunch and Chewy Granola Bars at Quaker Oats Co. Watson holds a B.S. in criminal justice from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
