Maria Pinto at VMR

Chicago designer Maria Pinto's new collection of urban, architectural designs, M2057 by Maria Pinto, can be shopped through April 12 at VMR (Vintage/Modern/Resale) on Oak Street. The collection, which she launched last fall via a Kickstarter campaign, features a carefully edited assortment of washable, wrinkle-resistant dresses, under $400, that skim the body rather than cling for a universally flattering, elegant fit.

A recent addition to the shopping scene too, VMR offers a cross-section of vintage and new designer fashion from the world's major design houses and now, a local talent.

Does M2057 seem outside the box alongside VMR's curated assortment of Fendi and Valentino?

"Our interpretation is that this is inside the box -- we are supporting Chicago -- and we always intended to expand beyond resale and vintage," said VMR co-owner Tina Kourasis. "The dresses and jackets are exquisite and will pair perfectly with our amazing collection of vintage and resale pieces."

Though it's typically by appointment only, for this show it's open for walk-ins from noon to 6 p.m. The show is also a chance to get access to Gill's coveted styling services. VMR, 34 E. Oak St., 7th floor.
