Dr. Margo Shoup, cancer program medical leader, Cadence Health

Dr. Margo Shoup, M.D., has been appointed medical leader of the Cancer Program at Cadence Health and medical director of Surgical Oncology at Cadence Physician Group.

A surgical oncologist with expertise in gastrointestinal cancers, Shoup will work in collaboration with medical and radiation oncologists, as well as other physicians, clinicians and staff across disciplines, to deliver multidisciplinary patient care at Cadence Health formed through the merger of Central DuPage Health and Delnor Community Health System.

Shoup specializes in surgical care for malignant tumors of the stomach, pancreas, liver and esophagus, as well as colorectal cancer and sarcomas. 

She joins Cadence after 10 years at Loyola University Medical Center, where she most recently was Chief of Division of Surgical Oncology and vice chairman for clinical outcomes research in the department of surgery and assistant dean for clinical and translational research. 

A graduate of Northwestern Medical School,  Shoup served her residency at Loyola and was a fellow in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.She also is director of the American Board of Surgery.
