Dr. Christopher Skelly has been named chief of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Skelly completed his general surgery residency at the University of Chicago with a two-year research fellowship in vascular surgery. He received a B.S. in biochemistry from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and his M.D. from New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. He also completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently has a grant to study vascular biology, physiology and gene therapy as applied to neointimal hyperplasia, a leading cause of bypass graft and vascular stent failure.
