Chicago-premiering 'Disgraced' wins drama Pulitzer

The play "Disgraced," penned by Ayad Akhtar, has won the Pulitzer Prize in drama.

"Disgraced" is an intense play that tells of a collapsing marriage between a Pakistani-American lawyer and his Caucasian wife. Director Kimberly Senior's production premiered at the American Theater Company in Chicago in Jan. 2012,  before moving to New York's Lincoln Center.

The two other finalists in the category were "Rapture, Blister, Burn" by Gina Gionfriddo and "4000 Miles" by Amy Herzog.
