Rewarding school performance

Chicago Public Schools CEO Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings and Chicago Public Education Fund CEO Janet Knupp appear at a ceremony earlier in December at Wescott Elementary School, where ten school principals were given performance awards. Duncan was selected by President-elect <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEPLT007408" title="Barack Obama" href="/topic/politics/government/barack-obama-PEPLT007408.topic">Barack Obama</a> Monday to succeed Spellings as the U.S. Secretary of Education. During her visit, Spellings said Duncan had the necessary skills to take her place.
