The body of a man was pulled out of a lagoon at Marquette Park this morning, officials said.
The Chicago Police Marine Unit was called to the park on the 6700 block of South Kedzie Avenue after someone spotted the body in the water, said Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
Marine Unit divers were called to respond for a recovery attempt, Estrada said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office was notified that the body of a man was recovered from the water and that paramedics had pronounced him dead at 8:50 a.m., according to a spokesman.
The unidentified man appeared to be in his 20s, according to the spokesman. There did not appear to be any signs of trauma.
An autopsy is expected Saturday.
