Chicago writers at Sundance

Three artists with strong ties to Chicago are among the five writers and two composers featured in the 2012 Playwrights Retreat run by the Sundance Institute Theatre Program in February, and designed as a sponsored,  "supportive environment" for the creation of new work.

According to the Institute, the three are Bruce Norris ("Clybourne Park"), Brett Neveu ("4 Murders' and many others) and composer Josh Schmidt ("A Minister's Wife").

Others in the group, which meets on a ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyo., are Heidi Schreck, Nathan Jackson, Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, and Georgia Stitt.
