Montgomery Gentry

Before you go into a pouting and whining tirade because Country Thunder tickets are sold out, we'd like to remind you there's a lot of country coming this way. Let's begin with Montgomery Gentry (Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry) at the NIU Convocation Center on Sunday. The Southern rock duo's mountainous appearance (with Montgomery's signature hat adding more height to the tall singers) is only a molehill compared with MG's colossal 14-year music career.

Why go: New music from Gentry's latest, "Rebels on the Run," and hits from "Hillbilly Shoes" to "I'll Keep the Kids"; and you don't have to drive all the way to Twin Lakes, Wis.

Reconsider: Montgomery Gentry is cool and all, but they are no Dierks Bentley or Keith Urban.
