Chicago Shakespeare Theater said Tuesday that it will present "The Table," an adult-oriented puppet show informed by Bunraku puppetry and created by the British company Blind Summit Theatre.
The piece, part of CST's World Stage Series, will be performed in the Upstairs Theatre on Navy Pier Oct. 16-27. The show involves the existential crisis of a "cantankerous puppet with a cardboard head."
CST also said Tuesday that "Cadre," its co-production with the Market Theatre in Johannesburg which premiered in Chicago, will travel both to Grahamstown, South Africa and to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland in coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the Q Brothers' rap show, "Othello: The Remix," has been booked both in South Korea and in London. And "Murder for Two," a musical comedy developed at Chicago Shakespeare, is slated for a run this summer at Second Stage Theatre in New York.
