• A man was wounded when shots were fired from one car at another in the Jefferson Park neighborhood in what police are calling a case of road rage. The shooting occurred around 5:40 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Lavergne Avenue, police said. • Police say a man charged with killing a 15-year-old girl in Calumet City had been aiming at someone else. Eric Brown, 20, of Calumet City, is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to police. Brown walked up to the kitchen window of a home in the 500 block of Ingraham Avenue in the south suburb and opened fire, killing Ashaya Miller and wounding her older cousin. Read more
• A South Side man has been charged in the death of a cab driver who was shot during a robbery last week, according to police. Eric Taylor, 28, of the 8500 block of South Parnell Avenue, was "identified as an offender" in the shooting of Edwin Obazuaye near the intersection of 91st and Lafayette streets. He is charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery, and is due in bond court today, according to Chicago police. Read more
• A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver who was later arrested after police traced his license plate number, authorities said.
