Two men were shot Monday night and afternoon in separate attacks on the Southwest Side and Near West Side.
Most recently in the University Village neighborhood, a 19-year-old man was shot in the arm at 6:02 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Hastings Street, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.
The victim was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was in good condition, said Gaines.
In another shooting, in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the city's Southwest Side, someone shot a 31-year-old man in the chest in the 6500 block of South Maplewood Avenue about 2:40 p.m. said Gaines.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot and found two brothers of the victim who told police their sibling had been shot but had no further details, according to a police report.
Gaines said the 31-year-old man was taken in critical condition to Stroger hospital.
