The feet of Richard Cain point down as police prepare to take his body to the Cook County Morgue on Dec. 20 1973. Cain, once an investigator for the county sheriff who turned mobster, was shot to death gangland style at Rose's Restaurant on Grand Avenue. Cain had been linked to the murder of one gangster and was believed to be interested in becoming Chicago's "Godfather."
