Carol Marin (left) is a Chicago native and attended Palatine High School and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 1978 she was hired as the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. news anchor for WMAQ-TV. In 1997, 19 years after she had accepted the position, she resigned from NBC. Marin became CBS's network correspondent and investigative reporter for WBBM-TV a few months later. She reported for "60 Minutes," "60 Minutes II," "48 hours," and "Evening News with Dan Rather." In 2002 Marin left television news to form an independent documentary company and later returned to WMAQ-TV in 2004.
