Vehicle smashes into house, leaving 1 dead, 2 hurt

A speeding Audi smashed into a house in southwest suburban Oak Lawn Friday night, leaving its driver dead and two passengers injured, police said.

The Audi was westbound on 105th Street traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the road and plowed into a house in the 10400 block of South Georgia Lane at 10:39 p.m., police said in a press release.

The Audi's driver, Carlos M. Lomeli, 24, of the 10600 block of South Kilbourn in Oak Lawn, died on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Two men who were front and rear seat passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The front garage section of the home sustained "significant" damage, police said in the release.
