About 1:30 p.m. in the South Side's South Shore neighborhood, someone shot a 14-year-old boy in the arm as he stood on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of East 68th Place, Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He has since been released.

Later on Saturday, a 16-year-old boy was shot about 4 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, in the West Side's Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Police said the boy was shot in the forearm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
