Authorities seek help in hit-and-run investigation

Authorities today released a sketch and asked for the public's help in finding the driver of a Jeep SUV involved in a hit-and-run last week in Bedford Park that critically injured a man.

Officials from the Cook County Sheriff’s office, the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and the Bedford Park Police Department are investigating the crash that occurred about 10:15 p.m. June 13 in the 5800 block of 73rd Street and left a man in his 30s in critical condition.
According to a release from the sheriff's office, the driver being sought is described as a Hispanic man, about 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds, with short hair. A sketch of the driver was released.
Authorities also are looking for a dark gray Jeep Grand Cherokee with front-end damage involved in the hit-and-run.
