American Theater Company will stage the musical "Hair" and Stephen Karam's play "Sons of the Prophet" during the 2013-14 season, but those will be the only two new, full productions on offer to Chicago subscribers.
The third and fourth show in the subscription pacakge will be a subscriber-only weekend presentation of the radio version of "The Wizard of Oz" and the long-running radio version of "It's a Wonderful Life."
"Hair," which will be staged in the spring of 2014, was initially announced as part of the 2012-13 season. The Chicago premiere of the 2012 off-Broadway drama, "Sons of the Prophet," about two Lebanese-American brothers, will begin performances Jan. 31.
Artistic director PJ Paparelli said that he and his theater will be busy this fall with a short national tour of "Columbinus," slated to begin in Boston in September. This will be the first time an ATC production has gone on the road.
