Angiela Zielinski, executive director, Juvenile Protective Association
Angiela Zielinski has returned to the Juvenile Protective Association as executive director. She is charged with helping the association reach communities, families and vulnerable children. Zielinski spent more than six years in various leadership rolls, including chief operating officer, at the agency from 2001 to 2007, helping launch its Building Bridges to North Lawndale demonstration project. She left JPA to join the United Way of Greater Houston, later moving on to become chief operating officer and chief executive of AIDS Foundation Houston. Zielinski has a bachelor's degree in social work degree from Aurora University and a master's in social work, specializing in management and policy from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She also holds a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Illinois and is a certified social work manager. JPA was founded in 1901 by Jane Addams and has become a leading nonprofit agency that works with and on the behalf of children and families.
