With fans still in mourning over pop star Michael Jackson's death, Hampton, a 41-year-old who has honed his Jackson impersonator act for more than two decades, was working dozens of shows a week, from office appearances to birthdays and street festivals. And as devoted admirers of the pop star came to grips with Jackson's death, the performance of an earnest impersonator, for some, became a means of honoring Jackson and his work.
