The Creative Chicago Expo is a one-stop resource and networking hub for artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, foodies and other creative types. Workshops (eighth blackbird, WFMT and CHIRP Radio will have one) and vendors (Links Hall, SAG-AFTRA, The Second City Training Center and Hyde Park Art Center are some) are part of the two-day conference.
Why go: The informational expo will include keynotes by Pitchfork Media President Chris Kaskie, Thirst design firm founder Rick Valicenti and Sunday Dinner Club founders Christine Cikowski and Joshua Kulp.
Reconsider: You just need someone to listen to your demo and make you a pop star.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St.; free; 312-744-3316, chicagoculturalcenter.org
