Joffrey Ballet

The Joffrey Ballet hotness for its "Winter Fire" program will be "Infra," a collaboration from British choreographer Wayne McGregor (Royal Ballet of London, Random Dance) and artist Julian Opie. The U.S. premiere of the piece created after the London subway bombings in 2005 is a work of "hyper-articulate" movement, in which dancers display exhausting strength and flexibility, to show the sense of constant change and monotony that is urban life. Throughout "Infra," a 59-foot LED screen shows pedestrian animation scenes created by Opie.

Why go: The Joffrey favorite, "After the Rain" by Christopher Wheeldon is part of "Winter Fire."

Reconsider: No getting around Congress Parkway traffic congestion.

Details: Wednesday through Feb. 26 at Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Parkway; $25-$149; 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com
