Winter Chamber Music Festival

The Toronto-based Cecilia String Quartet begins the Bienen School of Music's 16th annual chamber series, playing quartets by Mozart, Beethoven, Shostakovich and Chicago composer Stacy Garrop; 7:30 p.m. Friday (pre-concert discussion with Garrop at 6:45 p.m., Regenstein Recital Hall). Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Bienen School faculty musicians will perform works for strings, winds and piano by Franck, Kodaly and Penderecki; 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
