Born to Hollywood parents Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher was cast as Princess Leia in the first "Star Wars" movie when she was 19 years old. Since then, there's not much she hasn't seen or been through -- the galaxy just for starters. "Wishful Drinking" is her autobiographical Broadway show, a funny, confessional one-woman performance based on her strange life as a celebrity and her battles with addiction and mental illness.
Why go: Who wouldn't want to hear about the life behind that cheese danish hairdo? Reviews from the Broadway engagement have been positive.
Reconsider: You can also catch it on television -- an HBO documentary version is nominated for an Emmy.
Details: Tuesday through Oct. 16 at the Bank of America Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St.; $25-$65; 800-775-2000, ticketmaster.com
