Two men were sentenced to 120 years each for luring a group of teens into a Maywood alley where they robbed them at gunpoint and forced two of the victims to perform sex acts.
Cortez Lyons, 25, and Timothy Moore, 26, were convicted in March of armed robbery and criminal sexual assault for the attack on three teens in a Maywood alley in 2006, according to a press release from the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Prosecutors said Lyons approached two of the victims as they sat in a car at a gas station near 5th Avenue in Maywood. He offered to sell them marijuana and after the third victim returned to the car, he told the trio to drive down a one-way alley and park behind a building, the release said.
When the three arrived, Lyons approached the car, pulled out a handgun and robbed the victims at gunpoint. Moore and a third man, Christopher Pittman, then arrived at the scene armed with handguns, prosecutors said.
After searching the victim's purses and the car, Moore and Lyons ordered the female victims to perform oral sex on them at gunpoint. The male victim was forced to watch as he sat in the back seat, prosecutors said.
Lyons and Moore then raped both of the female teens and continued the attack until Maywood police arrived at the scene, but the attackers fled, the release said.
The victims were shown a video surveillance tape from the gas station and they identified their attackers from the video. Pittman, whose criminal case for aggravated assault is pending, was arrested in June of 2007. His arrest led to the arrests of Lyons and Moore later that month, prosecutors said.
Moore and Lyons were sentenced Tuesday.
