Wednesday, June 11: "Model City"

Models don't get any cooler—or much more ambitious—than the Chicago Architecture Foundation's "Model City," which scales down 1,000 structures covering four square miles of the Loop (and near North, West and South Sides) into the Santa Fe building's spacious lobby. As if that weren't cool enough, the lighting changes every 15 minutes from sunrise to sunset. It's a fun experience for all ages—and the kids might learn something about legendary city planner Daniel Burnham too. When: 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m.Where: Chicago Architecture Foundation, 224 S.
