Alternative movie posters

"Bridesmaids" A common approach to an alt-movie poster is rendering the film, animated or not, as an animated movie, a bright, colorful cartoon. Philadelphia-based illustrator Dave Perillo, whose long, vertical posters for 1960s Charlie Brown specials are worth checking out (at his website, Monty Gog¿s Art-O-Rama), removes the dark, satiric (actor-centric) tone of the studio poster in favor of a lighter, cheerful approach recalling the opening credits of `60s comedies. Right? Said Perillo: "That was created for Mondo a couple of years ago. They did posters of the movies up for Oscars that year, and basically I wanted to reflect the comedy mostly, while drawing from wedding magazines. Cake toppers are probably what inspired the poster. It's not my favorite movie, but the poster was fun." - Christopher BorrelliDave Perillo for Mondo/Universal Pictures
