If you've managed to avoid the V-Day mayhem so far, reward yourself with an intellectual afternoon at laid-back Swim Cafe (1357 W. Chicago Ave., 312-492-8600) for Scrabble Sunday, which begins at 1 p.m. Winners score big with free coffee, tea or Italian soda. Hang here for a while before walking to an early dinner down the street. Vettel says a good thinking-person's destination is Green Zebra (1460 W. Chicago Ave., 312-243-7100), a veggie-focused (not strictly vegetarian, but mostly so) West Town spot that doesn't skimp on the creature comforts. Once you've been smartly satiated, make your way to the Building Stage (412 N. Carpenter St., 312-226-9633, $15-$27.50) for a 7 p.m. performance of "Goldbrick," a story about the Everyman's attempt to live the American dream as an immigrant in Chicago. Co-produced by Walk About Theater and Collaboraction, the show features a live band playing music by local overachiever Jon Langford.
