A supergraphic billboard along Pico Boulevard is among those at 12 locations that are at the center of a nuisance abatement lawsuit by the city in a long-running struggle to enforce outdoor advertising laws on February 26, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich is accusing 27 businesses and individuals of erecting illegal building-sized vinyl or plastic ads throughout the city. Trutanich will seek fines of up to $5,000 a day for each day for illegal supergraphic on buildings and for those freeways he will also ask for $10,000 plus $100 for each day an unpermitted sign is up. One of the defendants, World Wide Rush, is fighting the city ban against supergraphics and has a separate billboard case pending before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
