Susquehanna Bank announces the following new employees:
Darren T. Basore joined the company as vice president, commercial relationship manager in the Central Maryland Region, centered in Hagerstown.
He will be responsible for developing new, and maintaining existing, commercial relationships. Basore will be based at Susquehanna’s office at the Dual Highway corporate office in Hagerstown.
Basore previously worked as a commercial portfolio loan officer with TD Bank and has 24 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.
A resident of Germantown, Md., Basore is active in industry and community organizations as a member of Montgomery Youth Hockey Association and is a prior chairman of the Maryland Bankers Association Leadership and Development Committee.
Basore graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
Eric M. Foreman joined the company as vice president, commercial relationship manager in the Chambersburg, Pa., market.
He will be responsible for developing and managing commercial relationships and will be based at Susquehanna’s office at 801 Norland Ave. in Chambersburg.
Foreman previously worked as a vice president, senior business banking relationship manager at M&T Bank and has 18 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.
A resident of Chambersburg, Foreman is the United Way of Franklin County’s board president and is on the boards of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation.
Foreman graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Delaplaine Foundation Inc.
FREDERICK, Md. — Marlene B. Young recently was elected president of the Delaplaine Foundation Inc. and Philip W. Hammond was elected treasurer.
Young and Hammond have served as trustees since the foundation’s inception.
The Delaplaine Foundation was founded in 2001 following the sale of GS Communications Inc. and The Frederick News-Post by the Great Southern Printing and Manufacturing Co. The foundation is based at the offices of Great Southern Enterprises Inc. in Frederick. It is dedicated primarily to the enrichment of families and communities within Maryland and nearby regions by supporting programs and services that strengthen physical, mental and spiritual well-being, educational advancement, the arts and sciences and historic preservation.
Association of Fundraising Professionals
ERIE, Pa. — Margaret Uhrich Taylor, certified fundraising executive, recently was named outstanding fundraiser of the year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter.
Taylor was nominated by Penn State Erie, the Behrend College and by a colleague, Dr. Emma Lee McCloskey, president of the Catholic Foundation.
Taylor is director of development alumni relations at Penn State Erie, the Behrend College, where she is responsible for fundraising and alumni relations. She has helped raise $49 million for the Behrend College as part of Penn State’s capital campaign.
