AT&T Wireless retailer Spring Mobile has pushed into Connecticut, buying a dozen stores across the state from Product Center.

The acquisition of more than 50 stores in all is the third major acquisition Spring Mobile has made this year, a period during which the authorized AT&T retailer has doubled in size, it says.

The Connecticut locations are in Wallingford, Stratford, Cheshire, Waterbury, New Britain, Wethersfield, Hartford, Winsted, Windsor, Willimantic, Lisbon and Killingly.

Spring Mobile, a subsidiary of GameStop Corp., also purchased 19 stores in New York and another 19 in New Jersey. It now runs 298 stores in 26 states.

“We are focused on making high-quality affordable AT&T wireless services available to more people in more locations nationwide, and our new stores have significantly increased the rate at which we can do that,” Jason Ellis, president of Spring Mobile, said in a statement.
