Hard Rock International filed its application and fees for the sole western Massachusetts casino license with state regulators on Friday, the same day it unveiled plans for a resort casino on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino New England would be developed east of the fairgrounds. "With 38 acres to develop, the project allows us to build today and grow tomorrow," Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International, said in a statement.
