The retail storefronts for Connecticut's health exchange, Access Health CT, are closed on a day-to-day basis until enrollment begins in the fall.

The exchange has two "enrollment centers," or retail stores, where people could come in and ask questions or get help signing up for coverage during the open enrollment period from Oct. 1 through March 31. The two locations, in New Britain and New Haven, had 19,500 visitors during that time, including 9,917 who enrolled in health plans.

Enrollment for 2015 starts Nov. 15 and ends Feb. 15.

"From the beginning, we envisioned these two centers serving a variety of purposes," said Kevin Counihan, Access Health CT CEO. "During open enrollment, our main priority was providing a place where people could come ask questions about health care coverage and obtain assistance enrolling in a plan. Now that open enrollment has ended, we're planning to use the centers to host educational sessions through the summer, and expect to fully re-open this fall to support the next open enrollment cycle."

Enrollment is closed until next fall, except for special circumstances such as marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, or loss of insurance coverage through an employer.
