Mary Beth West, chief category officer, Kraft

Mary Beth West, chief marketing officer for Kraft, has added the title of chief category officer. As such, she will oversee the gum, candy, chocolate and business global category teams in addition to running Kraft’s multi-billion-dollar marketing division.<br>

That puts West in charge of  the acquired <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORCRP002436" title="Cadbury plc" href="/topic/business/consumer-goods-industries/food-industry/cadbury-plc-ORCRP002436.topic">Cadbury</a> businesses, as well as Kraft’s chocolate interests and European biscuit businesses.<br>

West has been executive vice president and chief category and marketing officer for three years. Before that, she was group vice president of Kraft Foods and president of the North America beverages sector, which includes Maxwell House, Crystal Light, Capri Sun and Kool-Aid.<br>

She began her career at General Foods as associate product manager. West got B.S. in management from Nazareth College of Rochester,  N.Y. and an MBA from <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU000097" title="Columbia University" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/columbia-university-OREDU000097.topic">Columbia University</a>.
