John V. Blazek has been named president of the National <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HEDAI0000030" title="Multiple Sclerosis" href="/topic/health/diseases-illnesses/multiple-sclerosis-HEDAI0000030.topic">Multiple Sclerosis</a> Society, Greater Illinois Chapter.<br>

Blazek joins the society from <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU0000132" title="Northwestern University" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/northwestern-university-OREDU0000132.topic">Northwestern University</a> School of Law, where he raised more than $5 million over three fiscal years as director of major gifts.  He also directed a portfolio of 150 major donors as  Interim Associate Dean of Development..<br>

He previously worked for the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORNPR000031" title="Archdiocese of Chicago" href="/topic/religion-belief/christianity/roman-catholicism/archdiocese-of-chicago-ORNPR000031.topic">Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago</a> and practiced law.  Besides a law degree, Blazek has a master’s in divinity from the University of St. Mary of the Lake.
