McDonald’s Corp. and Kraft Foods Group Inc will begin selling the fast-food giant’s McCafe brand packaged coffee in grocery stores across the United States starting early next year, the companies said on Tuesday.

The coffee will be packaged in 12-ounce bags and single-cup portions, which include K-cups for Keurig Green Mountain Inc’s popular brewers.

The bagged coffee will be available in Premium Roast (decaf and regular), Breakfast Blend, French Roast (both whole bean and ground), Colombian, French Vanilla and Hazelnut. The single cups will be available in Premium Roast (decaf and regular) and French Roast.

Pricing was not disclosed.

“We understand there is huge demand for at home options and we’ve built great success with our McCafé coffee in restaurants. So, it was a natural next step to provide customers with McCafé coffee to enjoy in their
own home,” said Greg Watson, senior vice president, McDonald’s U.S. Menu Innovation.

The companies in October 2013 announced that they were testing McCafe grocery sales in the United States.

The roll-out will include ground, whole-bean and single-cup options through a partnership with Kraft Foods. Kraft confirmed it was testing the new products with Oak Brook-based McDonald’s last October.

McDonald’s has been making a bigger push to get people interested in its coffee since the U.S. launch of McCafe in 2009. It’s also seen stiffer competition for coffee and breakfast in general, including Taco Bell’s recent breakfast introduction.

More recently, McDonald’s has leaned on its McCafe line to jump-start sluggish sales, along with other menu items like smoothies and custom-topped burgers.
