Elizabeth K. 'Bitze' Glaser, deacon

Elizabeth K. "Bitze" Glaser, an ordained Presbyterian deacon who was active in the affairs of Govans Presbyterian Church, died Wednesday at Roland Park Place from complications of dementia. She was 95.

The daughter of a Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. worker and a homemaker, Elizabeth Lyle Kane was born and raised in Northwest Baltimore.

She was a 1934 graduate of Forest Park High School and Baltimore Business College.

She was married in 1940 to H. Donald Glaser Sr., a consulting engineer, who had been president and chairman of the board of Henry Adams Inc. He died in 1985.

Mrs. Glaser, who had been a member since 1943, had served as an ordained deacon at of Govans Presbyterian Church for many years.

Since 1956, she had been a member of the board of managers of the Presbyterian Home of Maryland in Towson. She was a volunteer at Epiphany House, a senior citizens' residence in Govans, and with Meals On Wheels of Central Maryland at Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church in Woodbrook.

She also worked for many years with the reunion committee for the Forest Park High School Class of 1934.

Mrs. Glaser was a Ruxton resident before moving to Harper House in the Village of Cross Keys in the 1970s. For the past 20 years, she lived at Roland Park Place.

She enjoyed cooking and entertaining.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at her church, 5824 York Road, Govans.

Surviving are a son, H. Donald Glaser Jr. of Missoula, Mont.; a daughter, Susan G. Clancy of Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
