Two-alarm blaze destroys home in Pasadena

A two-alarm fire destroyed a Pasadena house, displacing a family of four, fire officials said Wednesday.

Several 911 calls around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday brought county firefighters to the two-story house in the 100 block of Kentucky Avenue in the Lake Shore area.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Division Chief Keith D. Swindle.

No one was injured in the fire, which caused an estimated $250,000 in damage, he said. Two adults and a child who were at home at the time of the fire escaped before firefighters arrived to see the house "well involved" in flames, he said.

Swindle said the initial unit on the scene immediately sought a second alarm, bringing the number of firefighters there to 66 from companies around the area. The fire was under control within about 45 minutes, he said.
