Shakespeare in the Ruins

Shakespeare in the Ruins The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company takes up residence at the Patapsco Female Institute each summer, bringing Shakespeare's plays to life amid the gorgeously dramatic ruins. This year, see "Antony & Cleopatra" June 7 through July 14, and "The Taming of the Shrew" June 21 through Aug. 4. Folding chairs provide outdoor seating, but audience members are also encouraged to bring blankets. Shows are 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, 6 p.m. on Sundays. The gates open 90 minutes before the show, so feel free to arrive early and enjoy a picnic on the property. On Friday nights, audience members can talk to the director, cast or special guests before the show; Sunday is Family Fun Day, with activities before the show specifically for young Shakespeare fans. Prices are $15 to $38, with free admission for children under 18, two children per paying by Sarah Pastrana
