Columnist Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. whines about "the seemingly limitless desire for additional tax revenue: "It's never enough. There is always more demand for revenue — more government programs" ("Building a business is bad under Obama," May 11).
Question: Has the population, nationally and in Maryland, shrunk or increased over the last decade?
Answer: It has increased. Which means "more": more people, that is, more constituents, more voices insisting upon their share of government responsiveness and services. Which necessitates additional (tax) revenue/resources to satisfy that popular demand.
