Jan. 16, 1988: In Bob Wade's only victory over Duke during his three years at Maryland, the Terps stunned the No. 7 Blue Devils, 72-69, behind senior center Derrick Lewis, who finished with 20 points and nine rebounds and scored the go-ahead basket with 22 seconds to play. Wade, in his second year replacing Lefty Driesell, did a victory dance and hugged athletic director Lew Perkins, the two of them jumping up and down. The former Dunbar coach, called it "the biggest" win of his coaching career, which ended a little more than a year later when he was fired amid NCAA improprieties.
